Campaign Short Summary:

TLC Learning Center has the vision to create the TLC Early Learning Collaborative; a community space where all can access high quality early childhood education services, as well as, access training, shared space, higher education, and more. The 35,000 sq. ft building is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2026. To-date, we have raised 14.6 million dollars of the 17 Million dollar goal. We are seeking the final 13% to complete the project support the final construction on the TLC Early Learning Collaborative (ELC) center in southeast Longmont, a 35,000 sq. ft, two-story building in southeast Longmont that will act as a hub for early childhood education (ECE) services for Boulder, Weld, Denver, and Jefferson Counties. The overall goal of the ELC is to develop a responsive childhood ecosystem where early childhood education and care, resources, and provider training are co-located to enhance access and support for families in the community.

Capital Campaign Scope:

Early Childhood Education Services The building will have classrooms, pediatric therapy spaces, a commercial kitchen, professional development and community training spaces, administrative offices, multiple playgrounds, and parking. The ELC will allow for convenient childcare and early childhood education services for more than 250 children with both neurotypical and neurodiverse needs. In addition, holistic family services, training, and resources will be provided for early childhood teachers, staff, and FFN caregivers. Leveraging partnerships with established early childhood organizations in the area, the ELC will provide a collaborative hub to expand early childhood development in multiple aspects by bringing together, in one facility, the following support and resources: •15-20 licensed early childhood classrooms. In addition to providing childcare to the employees of the City of Longmont, these classrooms will prioritize the needs of the populations facing the greatest childcare scarcity: low-income families and children with developmental delays or disabilities. Most of the student population will be CCAP eligible families. •Professional development and training opportunities for early care providers, with a particular focus on FFN caregivers. •Medical, social-emotional, language support for families and professionals. •Networking opportunities and peer-to-peer support for home-based early childcare providers to reduce isolation and promote shared learning. The anticipated outcomes, results, and impact for the community are: •The expansion of equitable access to quality childcare services for all families. •Support for provider mental health and wellbeing. •The development of pathways for FFN providers. •Increased public and private investment partnerships in early childhood efforts. •The expansion of a diverse teaching population with dedicated training for early childcare providers by partnering with school districts, higher education, and the Early Childhood Council. •The support for families with children under age 3 who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, such as families with children with special healthcare needs, low-income families, families with infants and toddlers, and Hispanic families. Partnering with the City of Longmont to reduce the carbon footprint of the project, the ELC will have green infrastructure and technology, including solar, tankless water systems, energy efficiency systems, charging stations for cars, bike racks, and accessible trails, recycling compost and zero waste. Energy efficient building materials will be utilized for lighting, installation, and plumbing systems.
